4th & 5th SCV

Rob, I was going to suggest he had too many SCVs and he should remove a couple and send them my way. Then I realized that was downright de-constructive /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Rob, I'll split them with you

DDT, I have a 4700 with a similar arrangement and hydraulic top link. I think the 4400 is about the same size for clearances at this location I'm but not sure. I can post a picture in a couple of days when my tractor returns from the shop. Seems to me that I use the "middle" location for the top link connection and my cylinder is flipped end-for- end from your pictures.

Looking at your attachments, I offer the following suggestion - loosen and rotate the 90 degree fitting on the lower rear remote hose on the right side of the top link 90 degrees (or what ever it takes) to the right , this will increase your clearance to the cylinder, the quick disconnect should rotate to accomadate this adjustment, but I'm not sure it will provide proper hose orientation for your backhoe. I had to do something simular on my JD 790 with the remotes for clearance for my hydraulic top link. Also, if you had a welded (verses a tie rod) top link cylinder you may gain some cleanance. For the other outlets, can you "carefully" bend the tubeing to move them to the left?

I agree with John on the relocation of the power beyond line. Since you don’t have a 3rd SCV you can probable move the lower power beyond hose over to the hole directly below the upper port. That should give you some more room for the cylinder body. I don't have the 4th and 5th SCVs on mine but I know how close the power beyond lines are to the top link even with just the standard turnbuckle top link. Good luck.

I'm afraid I'm no help, John. I don't have a backhoe./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif Nor do I have those remove quick couplers. However, I agree with the others that all I've seen have the cylinder as the stationary end at the tractor and it "appears" that the lower holes in the bracket should be used. Unfortunately, I don't know whether even that would provide sufficient clearance.

I flipped the cylinder end for end to see if it would clear. I left it there for now. If you noticed the right remotes are farther to the rear and the left set are farther foward. if these were swicthed around it would not interfer with fitting on the cylinder, and I would not be able to use the right set, want a waste. if I rotated the cylinder 180 degrees then it would hit the power beyound hose. I use a 2" x 8" cylinder, if the fittings were on the bottom it would clear. The only thing I can think of.
A- find and build new cylinder with smaller OD
B- relocate the right remote
If possable B would be my choice, but that will open another can of worms?

If that's the case how difficult would it be to cut and reweld the swivel eye on the fixed end of the cylinder? Turn it so that it would be 90 degrees off to the original in line orientation.

On the 4100 the mounting bracket for the power beyond couplers is attached to the ROP's.

Went and looked at my 4700 at the shop today. My mounting plate has the power beyond and the 3rd, 4th and 5th connectors on the same plane. Can your dealer change the mounting plate? I'll try and get a picture tomorrow evening.

A pictures would be great. I am thinking of relocating the couplers to another location, like attached to the rops. I tryed to use the 4th & 5th, they don't work, I guess I have a line or two hooked up wrong. I sure wish there were directions in the manual for extra hyd circuits.
