Going to purchase a 5 ft rotary cutter in 2 weeks when i go to Tenn. for vacation. I am strongly leaning to driving over to NC to buy the 5 ft extreme duty cutter from Everything Attachments. Cost is 1,400. I looked at the TSC one and not built as well. Also the Razorback for 1300, not as well built. Not going to be using this cutter alot, just keeping the easement under powerlines mowed and edge of the road mowed. Also keeping the trails in the woods for our atv cleaned.

Thanks

Chuck

For $100 get the one you have confidence will last and not be a maintenance/repair headache.

Otherwise is used an option since it will not be getting that much use?

If there is a Rhino dealer close by, you might look at the Rhino 160. Specs are very similar to the ETA cutter except that the Rhino has a 65hp gearbox while the ETA has a 40 or 45hp gearbox (their webpage says 40 in one place and 45 in another).

The ETA has metal guards front and rear. I'm not sure I like that. In practice, those metal guards will get all bent up and lose their effectiveness. The Rhino, on the other hand, uses a rubber skirt that flexes and won't lose its shape (and front and rear chain shields are optional in lieu of the rubber skirt).

Also, decide whether you want a shear pin or a slip clutch. I prefer a slip clutch, but it is more expensive than a shear pin model.

I've got a Rhino 172 with a slip clutch and have been very happy with it.

Usually hard to find used that is not all beat up. I look at the metal thickness and 3 point hitch attach points. Everything Attachment has all that. Thanks for the reply

I like the looks of the Everything attachment cutter. Might end up with one. The cutter from Tennessee river looks good for the money. Kodiak med. duty from Agriculture supply is a nice unit at a good price. I like the fact that the last two have the single arm tail wheel rather than the a-arm set-up.

Thanks for the reply. I just looked online at the Kodiak. Seems well built... but the stump jumper is not really a stump jumper, didn't like a flat plate with angle iron used to act as the jumper. Like EA hitch pins which use a double bracket to support hitch pins. EA uses 10 gauge steel for the deck . Guess i will be making the 4 hr. drive to NC for the EA cutter.

Don't worry about the stump jumper style. They both work, The plate may be more durable as it is heavier metal. If you end up with the EA cutter, let us know. I would like to see some more pictures.

I agree.. don't let 100$ make a difference on a new cutter..

I am extremely happy with my EA rotary cutter. You are even within the 1000 mile free shipping area so no need to pick it up.
