Randy,
You could always buy a metal fuel can of another color and paint it yellow. AW Direct sells them but they are illegal to sell in my state. Only thing we can buy here are safety approved non vented, spillresistant, airtight cans that are a pain in the #@! to use. I have several red, blue, and yellow plastic Blitz type containers. I'll be watching for garage sales to pick up some older cans that don't take 15 minutes to fill my 8 gallon tank or maybe I'll buy a 12V fuel pump and some hose.

Walmart buys in so much quantity that in most cases they dictate to the wholesaler how much they are going to pay them.

I won't buy from Chinamart er... I mean Walmart ever. They are not always cheapest and I can always find what I need somewhere else at a reasonable price.

I do like the 15gal fuel station. Inexpensive but best of all not from Walmart.

For any American who thinks socialized medicine is a good idea (FREE!), think of one thing: would you want Hillary Clinton and Ted Kennedy deciding what health care you get?

As a labourer in the salt mines of Canadian socialized medicine, NOOOOOOO!

In Canada, the parallel private system in banned. It is illegal to pay to get surgery ahead of anyone on the "free" waiting list, because that's considered jumping the queue, and that's not "fair." We have a brutal shortage of doctors, because all governments cut medical school enrolments in the early 90's, because of a report that said doctors cost the government money, doctors cost the government more because they order expensive things like tests and surgery, so cutting the number of doctors will reduce costs. Only now are medical school enrolments increasing back to what they were 20 years ago. There is a 45% vacancy rate of ER docs in Winnipeg, the capital city of Manitoba. They cut nursing school enrolements in the same way.

In Canada, we have the equivalent of 12 HMO's, one per province.

If socialized medicine came in for Americans, do you think you'd pay the same taxes? In Manitoba, we have 7% provinical sales tax, 6% federal sales tax, on top of a top marginal income tax rate of 46.4%, that kicks in far lower than in the US. We have no mortgage interest deductibility. That's how we afford "free" health care.

Rant mode off :)

I bought 2 yellow 5 gal plastic Wedco jerry cans at a small town building centre: old style. Yay! Proper vent in the back, proper flexible full sized spout in the front. Hope they last 28 years like the 5 gal gasoline plastic Wedco can I have, which is still just fine.

Do you realize that Wal-Mart is one of the largest direct and indirect employers in the country? Do you realize that by "boycotting" their stores you may in fact be forcing them or their suppliers in the USA to cut jobs and/or layoff people? Just a little food for thought to those who continually rant that they will never shop at WM.

I never said socialized medicine was free. Canada's system may be flawed. However try telling someone with no insurance that are system is better. My particapation in this debate is over. Greg

schmism,
I like the looks of that fuel can. However it appears it will only work if its sitting up higher than the tractors tank. It's gravity flow.

I was thinking the same thing. I'd have to put it on my SD's toolbox to get it high enough. 15 gallons of diesel about 100# or so?

If I buy my product somewhere else then it will benefit somebody else somewhere. Freedom of choice and free enterprise. If it causes someone to get laid off they will be hiring at the new place that got my business. Exactly what I want. It is fair, it is the American way.
Ranting is just talk, I put my money where my mouth is by taking my business somewhere else, that is not ranting that is doing something about it.

If you have a fel on your tractor you could lift the 15gal fuel station up enough to use
gravity flow. Otherwise you will probably need help to lift it up on something.

Just to make matters worse!!! I went by Walmart this morning on the way to work. They didn't even have any yellow cans!! Reds were $9.86 or so. Also noticed they are not selling 5 gallons of tractor fluid anymore. I did find a gallon of slime for $26.80(down from $33) for some tube tires I have.

It doesn't take much for some people to go off on an anti-Walmart rant whenever they're mentioned.:(
