5\' Rotary Mower \"Bush Hog\"

I am getting a B2910 with a new finish mower. I have an old finish mower that is in pretty good shape and my dealer said that he would make me a pretty good deal on trading it in. I am not sure which brand to go with. I want a something heavy duty that is five foot in width. My dealer suggest Bush Hog Brand but sells Woods. What should I go with?

The one you like best. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Woods has a good reputation, but I've never owned one personally. Since I've owned and liked a Bush Hog RDTH60, that's the one I'd go with, but since I've not had an opportunity to compare them, I honestly can't say one's better than the other.

I have owned a six foot Befco Finish mower for eight years. It has never given me a problem. I just got done looking at the 5 feet Befco Tornado RSD Rotary Mower. It weighs about 25 pounds more and is made out of heavier gauge steel. I like the looks better and wanted to know if anybody had used them.

What is the size of your current finish mower?
What do you mean by "heavy duty"?
Are you cutting just cutting grass or want to cut "brush"?

Sorry if I worded that wrong but I meant that I was trading in my older 6ft Befco on a 5ft Bushhog of some sort because I have some brush to cut. I am getting a new 5ft Befco Finish Mower which is a better size for my yard.

WOW!!!! I'm sure confused. Read this thread 5 times and between bush hog, rotary cutter, rotary mower, and finish mower, I dont know what anybody is talking about. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I don't know much, but I do know this:

brush hog=bush hog=rotary cutter
finish mower is probably the same as rotary mower (mower seems to indicate finish, as opposed to rough cutting).

I thought "rotary mower" was also referring to a single shaft rough cut mower like a brush hog...

When he said "Befco Tornado RSD Rotary Mower", he was really asking about the Befco Tornado RSD Rotary Cutter. (RSD=Rotary Standard Duty)

He is also getting a new Befco finish mower, but he isn't asking about that - it's a done deal.
