I would kinda do the same thing but drill a hole, let it drain, then weld in a drain plug kit with the pan off. CJ

Even better:thumbsup:

I put some drain plugs in some of the rigs I had, I didn't have any way to weld back then, Napa used to carry a bolt in bung, maybe they still do..that was 20years ago:eek:

Yes I do, especially when you are dealing with the clearances and pressures in a Hydrostat. We have been getting excellent run time on Lenco harvesters with the added offline filtration and added pressure filtration. As far as the manufacturer being notified? Yea after they fail the customer goes somewhere else and when they run they stick with them. After fighting with a mfg for warranty most just move on, it is not like our small tractors. The have to have something that works. I really don't know what you are getting at with the added filtration. If something does not work to a customers/builders satisfaction then it is modified to work. Did I call the last sprayer manufacturer when I added a suction filter to the ground drive hydrostat and added a system relief to one of the control banks, no. Would they really care, no. Not with the piss poor customer service we got when we called Agco that told me they did not care. So no I usually don't call a manufacturer when we mod one of their units. CJ

What I'm getting at regarding filtration, is to go back to the OP's Kioti tractor post:
"I would say this represents about a third of what was still suspended in the oil, as you could still stir it with your finger and see metalic tracers.
The floaty stuff got mostly poured out when I emptied the buckets, there were pieces as big as a dime."

To me this looks like a filtration problem, either by design, or an isolated fault. You yourself mention adding filters, or offline filtering of large machinery. You also mention oil doesn't wear out. So I'm a bit surprised you say only to change the oil, and you don't at all, question the filtering ability of the machine. I don't think it's asking too much of a filter system to capture at least visible sized particles.

My guess is the majority of the junk was settled in the lowest parts of the machine and it came out with the drain. I do question the filtering of the machine but while still under warranty I will not mess with it, only keep fresh oil in it. With the oil being shared by the transmission and especially the brakes I know there will be contamination in it. The easy way to remove it is change the oil. Now in my case with the second drain I will run it through a filter cart then send it to Mobile for testing and if it comes back good it will go back in on the next change. I know this is not cost effective for most but for me it is a good option. I would have done it with the first oil change but I have no clue who's oil or what it was. What I will do in the future is add a charge filter with a electric dirt alarm set with a 2 micron cartridge to replace the one on the tractor. But like I said not until the warranty is up. CJ

I'm not answering for CJONE, just speculating...Koua had the same stuff in his oil, I am the OP, maybe some of that crap was laying in the bottom?
Maybe the filters were full and in bypass? I didn't cut them open, maybe I should have.
Pretty much everyone that has done their own 50hr hydro service has reported the same findings.

If you enlarge this picture, and look at the bigger black pieces in the clear side of the bucket, they are kind of floaty, you would think the filter would have picked them up if not full? 50 hr Hydro 002.jpg

I'm not to worried about it, but I am glad that crap is not in there anymore.

Edit I see CJ pushed the button already.

Just going by the OP. That's scary! Makes me wonder about quality control. OR is it really just about the shiny paint and drink holders?

Do you have anything intelligent to add?
Or are you just doing your usual troll act?

No. I'm asking, IS THERE ANY QUALITY CONTROL in the construction of this brand of tractors? Or are they a brand for "consumer" suckers? That's all. This is a public post.

Was the OP an attention seeking post? What was it's purpose except to ellicit response. You got mine!

Who knows what that is about. I would expect to see such things if I bought a knock off Listeroid engine made by some barefoot guy outside a hut in India!

You obviously didn't even read the post, the oil didn't come out of a engine.
Kiotis are not made in india.
You have numerous posts scattered about this massage board ranting about new tractors with cupholders.

I see you have a Cab John Deere, no cupholders? Or is that a REAL tractor because it's a John Deere?
Get over it.

I have no brand loyalty, but the JD seems to have you annoyed!

IMO, No new, modern diesel tractor should have that in it's hydraulic system. It is scary! And I am not an expert but hardly a rookie in any of this stuff.

Also, my point, as you seem to have missed it, is that we are being increasingly sold garbage that is ever fancier (garbage). And I include ALL brands in that. If you had read enough of my posts, I am highly critical of all my stuff, JD, GMC, Steiner, Stihl, Kawasaki and maybe not so much Kubota although I have to admit I wasn't a great fan at one time, for no good reason in particular.

BLING is cheap and easy to produce. Quality, substance and longevity are costly endeavours.

I have a lot of equipment. I do lament the fact that there is not a drink holder to be found on a single one.
