50 hour service

I was told it was a waste of money to change the hydro fluid and just did the filters I think it was about a $100 for everything for the 50 hr service.

then your manufacturers warranty may not be worth the paper it is written on......

:confused2:

I also was told by the dealer that changing the Hydraulic oil was not necessary and a waste of money by the dealer. I still changed it because of the warranty.
I only bought the Kioti hydraulic filter, the oil filter was wix. As long as the oil has the rating required in the manual it will not void the warranty. I think that is a law so the manufactures cannot force you to use their branded oil. Remember they do not refine it they just have their label put on someone elses oil.

Well the dealer and mechanic told me not to worry as well as the manual that came with my tractor. The original filers have magnets in the filter. So not sure why my warranty would be void? :confused2:

They do in fact mention those plugs and show them but thanks anyhow.

Another question what do you drain 11 gallons into? Or do you stop after several quarts and empty then repeat?

We cut off a plastic drum, drove up on blocks, skin barrel under, drained teams, then final drives. Slid barrel out back, then filled with fresh fluid.

I just double checked and is does say to change it in the manual. I think I will take my chances with just the filters for the first 50hrs. I saw no shavings when I did the change.

I have a Kioti CK20, and I was wrong the manual says to change it at 50 hrs. But after talking with the dealer and mechanic I am confident it will be fine. As for motor oil I used Rotella and used all Kioti filters.

i also was told by the dealer that they only change the filters and top off the fluids.so when i did my service i bought my filters and hydro fluid from dealer for $115.00 and got rotella 5w40 oil for the engine.no problems so far and saved a few bucks.

On the hydraulics, I'd go ahead and change the filters. If you have access to a lab locally or by mail, I'd take a sample of the fluid and have it analyzed for contaminants. If it comes back negative, you don't need to change the fluid.

Of course you can change you pants by taking them off, giving them a shake, and putting them back on. The manual doesn't say you can't filter the fluid and put it back in.

I did like the book said , drained at 50 hrs . The cost of machinery is expensive . Preventive maintenance is cheaper . The next drain is not until another 300 hrs. ( a couple of years away ) . I used the MF hydraulic filter and MF hydraulic oil . Peace of mind
