Your linkage must be different than mine -- no zerk fittings on the 3 pt hitch anywhere . . . I'd be interested in a picture of yours in case I'm missing something . . .

Anyway, I think I'll skip on the grease for the ball sockets -- probably just hit it with some 3 n 1 lightweight oil. Thanks!

On the ball sockets I spray Poly-Tech Lubricant on them. In fact it is the stuff I was given for our bicycles. It really lubes them up and doesn't leave a real grease film.
I spray it on the PTO shaft and and PTO ends also.
Seems to stay on for a long time also. I have used it once this spring and you can tell the stuff is still on them

The tilt adjuster zerks (3) are shown with arrows in the attached photo. The right link arm is adjustable on my tractor as I assumed it is on yours. Maybe I should not have made that assumption. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Part of the D package I believe.

The handcrank is part of the "D" package on Class III Boomers, but the sidelink is adjustable like the toplink on the economy models and has two zerk fittings. Is it not that way on the other TCs? Every tractor I've ever owned going back to a Ferguson TO-20 had an adjustable length link on one side of the 3PH. I'm just surprised that some tractors may not have that feature.

Mine is adjustable, but not using the same mechanism as yours . . . my TC30 has a turnbuckle adjuster, not the crank assembly yours is equipped with.

/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif It took us awhile to get to the correct description, but that turnbuckle is the 3PH item I think needs the most attention. Since it doesn't have zerks, I'd run it all the way out and grease the threads well at your 50 hr service. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have a TC35 and it has the adjustable sidelink (with 2 grease fittings). I think this is pretty much std across all 3PH... I also had the same thing on my old Ford 8n.

The top ball socket on my yanmar 1700's adjustable lift arm failed. I too have never seen one fail until then.

Re: ouch

I purchased the 51056 and it is smaller than the current oil filter on my 33. Did you find the same problem.
