12 year old 5205 with 520 Loader attachment. Loader arms lift up and down, but bucket does not tilt back (and is currently stuck in the down position). This is with the optional dual control levers, the lever that controls the tilt function will not move back at all. Dealer quoting 825 for new regeneration control valve...anyone have any other alternate suggestions? Also, until we figure this out, how the heck can I get the bucket back to normal position?

Did you try resetting the QD's?

Take a look under the can on the bottom of the valve and check the centering springs.

What are the QD's? Sorry, don't know much about hydraulics....

Hyd quick disconnects(couplers)

If you have quick couplers on the lines from the valves to the loader, First try disconnecting and reconnecting as J.J. suggested. If that does not work, to get the bucket back to normal, swap the lines from the boom cylinder with the bucket cylinder lines, then use the boom cylinder valve to move the bucket.

Bucket valve may just need to be disassembled and cleaned. Do that before buying a new valve. Or have the dealer check it.

cynthiaeryan,

Did you resolve your problem with the bucket?

If so, what was the solution?

Feedback is important in these discussions.

Thanks all for the direction, but I appear to be inept at hydraulics. I expected to see a disconnect similar to that of an air hose...what am I missing? The connections at the top (near the bucket arms) are very rusty. There are connections under the step and again at the back near the PTO. I appreciate the help, at this point I just want to get the bucket back up....

You may not have any disconnects.

Just follow the hose from the bucket cyl to the loader valve.

Did you switch hoses to check flow.

Is the valve controlled by a lever, or cables?

if cables, see if the cables are moving the spool.

A 3000 psi hyd gage would help here to determine if you have pressure.

I can't get the hoses disconnected, is just not making sense to me...how do they disconnect? See photo:

Try pushing in and then pull out fast.

If the sleeve moves, they might move both directions.
