a full rebuild kit for the vane pump is for sure more than 30-40$ you must have forgot a trailing 0 on each figure!!!

yea thats for the piston style pump i forgot to state that in my post

but if it was mine i would probably buy a used piston pump and rebuild it you could probably get by cheaper that way and the piston pumps are really easy to overhaul i have done a bunch of them

converting to a piston pump would be my choice as well, faced with a worn out vane pump..

ebay is full of them as well..



PS.. get the plumbing too!

Thanks soundguy! I will check first to see what I have on that tractor and then I'll know if I have to get one. My guess is that I will probably will, so that info will be very helpful.

if that fails, I have a friend that is a machinist that is making custom conversions with compression hoses to replace the oem piston or vane pump.

i have a couple of them but like soundguy said you can find them just about any where any major tractor salvage yard will most likely have one and also they are always on ebay

the 3pt lever won't effect anything as it's not even getting oil to the top cover.

try a air blow gun with a rubber tip and put it up to the port the dipstick goes in onthe hyd sump, and give it a few psi of air while the engine is running and that plug under the seat is out.

on my 1954 NAA My 3 point hitch doesn't work either it is full of fluid new and I tried the blowing in the dip stick trick--nothing, I took the pipe plug off the top of pump and with the motor running fluid came out so I guess it is primed what is my next step I have it running like brand new and now the hydraulics aren't working

At this point, open the pipe plug on the odd shaped option cover under the seat. If you have oil there and no 3pt, then there are a few possibilities.

1, stuck unloaded valve

2, bad backpressure valve (associated with acorn nut on right side center section )

3, gets tricky from here.. Could be holed piston, bad relief, massive oil leak on the valve block on the cyl, blown out gasket especially.
