Morning all! I tried posting in the snow forum, but haven稚 had much luck.. so here I am. I知 searching for a print of the blade bracket/support that is on the rear of the blade and attaches to the quick hitch. I can稚 seem to find a used one for sale, and I don稚 feel like shelling out nearly $300 for a new one, when I have access to steel, lathes, milling machines and a welder. So I知 attempting to fabricate one, but could use some dimensions. Does anyone out there have one they could measure up for me or know if there痴 blueprint out there on the internets...? I can try and post a pic, haven稚 had much luck trying in the past, but it痴 part #AM131473. Thanks in advance!!

A pic of your blade would help to add dimensions.. also to be certain your 54" is the same. I can release mine and measure, but would want to know ours are the same..

To post a pic, go to the "Go Advanced" button, and there you will see "Manage Attachments". Go there and you will see how you can "Add" (browse for your pic) and then "Upload". Pretty straight forward if pic is on your computer.

Yeah, I'm not sure what you are after either?

I'm going to install my front blade this morning. I'll get some pics of mine.

So I tried å*µo advanced but can稚 see the æœanage attachments option...? Anyway, I have the 54 quick hitch blade, and I知 trying to replicate the mounting support on the backside of the blade. Itç—´ a black steel bracket.

Maybe you are using a phone to try this.. ?? Not sure how that works...

Yes, I am. Think that limits my options?

Either one of these what you are after?

Yessss! Top/first pic!! The black steel bracket with the springs. My plow is missing that. I壇 like to fabricate one, but I need some dimensions off it. Hard to find a used one as well and a new one is @ $300. I have access to steel and machines to work with steel...

Bingo!! Glad ovrszd put up some good pics of the "culprit"..

Now, trying to figure if ovrszd has his blade in the living room, or if the comfy chair is in the shop.. :D

Looks like some additions were made to the blade to add some length (width). Nice!

The comfy chair is Willard's (shop dog). :)

I added 3" to each side so I could blade snow with it at full angle without the tractor driving on the unbladed snow.

Hey Ovrszd! Thanks for the pics. Theyæ±*e great! I could use a few more though if youæ±*e willing and have the time...? I could use a measurement of the depth of the bracket. I知 curious how far in it sits...if itç—´ touching the backside of the plow or thereç—´ a small gap.. A height of the base piece where the springs connect (looks to be about an inch or so) would help. Also, whatç—´ the thickness of the steel used? 1/4? 3/16? Thanks again for what you致e sent!

There's a small gap at the center of the blade curve.

Yep, about an inch between the top of the bracket and the moldboard crossmember that the top end of the springs fasten to.

Bracket metal thickness is 3/16". I'm sure it's not mild steel. Were I building one, I'd use 1/4" mild steel simply because of accessibility and ease of working with it.

I keep my moldboard latched all the time. Even added a bolt/nut on the side opposite the factory latch.

Hey ovrszd! I知 starting the fab on my blade support, and I知 using that 菟ivot rod as my starting point. (I知 referring to the solid rod that runs parallel to the blade along the bottom of the bracket, closest to the plow.) i will base the remaining holes Location from that. Any chance you can get a center measurement of that hole for me? I知 trying to use the pics you sent, but the tape is a bit too far away. I知 guessing around 1 up and maybe 1 in, to the center of that hole location? The next hole (towards the tractor, away from plow) appears to be 4.25 from that 菟ivot rod center and maybe 2.375 up from the bottom? And the top hole with the black solid rod, appears to be about 7 or so straight up from that? The last measurement I need would be the distance from the spring holding Cross member piece, towards the back of the bracket, (or front of tractor). I plan to use a piece of angle iron and need the lengths. I知 guessing it痴 about 2 H x 3.5 W? Hopefully that痴 not to confusing to understand... Thanks!

All of your estimates are correct.

The spring bracket is stamped metal, 1.5x2.

Were I building this I would use flat plate for the sides pieces. If using mild steel, I'd use 1/4" thick.

I'd use common angle iron for the bottom spring bracket.

I'd use the blade to correctly align those holes.

I'd use the tractor lift bracket to correctly align the solid rod at the top and to locate the bottom latch holes.

Anxious to see your progress.

We had some 3/16 hot roll lying around, so that痴 what I used for the sides. I currently have them C-clamped to the blade and marked the pivot hole, but was curious about the distances away from the blade. I know it shouldn稚 be touching the blade, so I stacked up some washers, placed them on the high spot of the blade radius and went from there. I知 having trouble posting pics, but I would sure like to share them... I値l keep working and taking pics and hopefully find a way to post them.

If your pics are on your computer, click the "go advanced" button, and then the "manage attachments"

There you can "add files" and browse for where they are. Once located, click "upload" and you should have it.

Or just locate the files wherever they are, and upload them.

Shout out if run into a problem.

Pics will be on my phone. I could send them to my email I suppose, then save them to the computer and upload that way...?

Can稚 seem to find the upload feature when using my phone... And I notice the hieroglyphics that form when I post/reply using my phone too. Or do you, as readers, not see that?
