Ok, got my new CK30HST and loving it, pictures soon I promise...

I have a few attachments and am learning slowly, I was interested in a previous post that stated the hour meter was based upon running time @ 2600 rpm...

My dealer told me, and I have my doubts, that to obtain a 540rpm at the pto I can either:

A) Set engine rpm to 2600 and set the rear PTO to the 540 position

or

B) Set the engine rpm to 1300 and set the read PTO to the 1000 position

Comments ?

Thanks

It would depend on the implement your planning on using. In the US, implements in this size range, that operate at 1000 RPM PTO speed are few and far between.

In round numbers the formula above would appear to make sense. Figuring the 1000 PTO RPM's is also at 2600 RPM's, splitting the 2600 RPM's in half (1300) should also split the 1000 PTO RPM's in half. HOWEVER, if you're only operating at 1300 RPM you are only 300 to 400 RPM's above idle speed. I would say the tractor's operating performance would be seriously lacking at only 1300 RPM's.

My guess was torque will be the problem at only 1300 rpm.

I believe on the CK30 you can only run it in 540 rpm pto @ 2600 because there is a stop on the pto lever that wont allow you to put it into 1000 rpm pto.

My 3054 seems like the hourometer increases at the same rate regardless of rpm.
thx

It's my understanding the 1000 rpm pto is an option in the USA.

I believe the 1000 is for Mid PTO. Do you have a Mid PTO?

The hour meter in the CK30's and some of the other new tractors are a ture hour meter. They are not mechanical anymore and are electronic controlled. Engine must be running for them to work though.

I thought Mid PTOs were 2000 RPM? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

2000RPM is mid PTO, thats what I said right /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif... I replied this morning before I was fully awake. Yes the Mid PTO is 2000RPM my typo error. I have yet to see a CK30HST with 1000 RPM. Hrmm I will have to do some checking.
