5425 shift knob price

Bought a 5425 and 15 foot RD9180 finish mower from a KY horse farm. Was a good deal on both as a set and going to sell the 5425 later.

The shift knob was broken so looked up the parts to replace and all the items came up to almost $50 for a plastic knob. Dang JD sure has high prices, wouldn't be so bad if they made stuff that could take a hit, but cheap plastic costing maybe $3 from China or India and sell for that much.

What is the part number? Knob I looked up was $13.25

Grip SU32036 $17.81
Insert R218826 $10.83 (shift pattern on it)
Clamp $12.59
screws 3 each small torx .49 = $1.47
bolt 2 each (philips screws) .60 = $1.20

All total = $43.90 + tax

I picked up the grip and insert today in Campbellsville, and thought the clamp (small piece of plastic about 1 inch long) was part of the grip, nope it to is separate. I got it all together and glued the clamp together. It just keeps the think from moving up. Its just cheap crap and cost high dollar, but its Green so it cost.

that rd9180 is selling for $8,950 USED!.. that JD5480 is selling for $26,500 no cab or FEL!..

I know I got a great deal, got the whole out fit for less then the tractor is worth. It just gets me that JD wants that much for junk. The one for my 24 speed Kubota is $28 for the whole knob (all one piece) and is well made. JD has prices up there with CAT but at least the CAT parts last

I have a couple guys that said they want it, but will see which come up with the funds.

If they don't buy it I'm going to replace the seat, exhaust pipe RF245831 $194.45 (bent) , fuel tank sender RE285549 $97.33 and sell it for maybe 26K. It has just under 1800 hours, 9 speed sync trans and spent its whole life pulling the mower
