the 8 run is to the distribution panel not to the alternator. the alternator is 4 gauge wiring to the battery. that only gets up into the 30's for a short timeDoes your rv have its own battery and, if so, how long does it take to transfer charge, from the vehicle, a low battery on the rv with the 8's?
you have to understand charge rate tends to drop quite rapidly. I also don't run the rv battery very very low.
at the end of the day for a group 27 etc, your looking at prolly 2+ hours for 80% charge, then 2 more to get full. Again these are just rough estimates on mine.
