6.0 Powerstroke letter

Knowing thats directed at me, my mother and father have died. Both painfully and I held their hand in the hospital when they took their last breath. Thanks for reminding me whether you knew that or not. You should consider those things when you make a post like that.
Anything else you want to insinuate? Names (like "troll") you want to call me?
I thought name calling was against the rules?

All I am doing is talking about real life experiences and it seems like everyone who owns a 6L Ford here calls anyone who hashad a bad experience a "troll"?

What kind of rules apply here anyway? Ford guys can call anyone who thinks Ford has somne shortcomings a troll?

Like was said before every manufacturer has a problem now and then. Sell it and move on, life is too short. My 03 GMC had the injectors and pump replaced by GM when a number of Duramax diesels had problems. Just turned 180,000 and going strong. Ford has had it's share, no more than anyone else. That's why there are so many manufacturers of trucks, tractors, blue jeans, etc. To each his or hers own.

By the way Dodge, if you can't compete in NASCAR, there's gotta be a problem. :soapbox:

Sure, all three manufacturers have had issues to work through. But, to imply that the Cummins or the Duramax have been failures like the 6.0 is rediculous. Neither of them have cost the manufacturer as much in warranty repairs, caused a breakup of the manufacturer and auto maker, or was cause for a class-action lawsuit.

It is real easy to say "just sell it and get something else", when you aren't walking in haydude's shoes. Many folks are financially stuck with the trucks, and can't afford to move either direction. It would be much better if Ford would help them out- look at how Toyota has come to bat for owners of trucks with rotted frames, even if they are not the original owner. Bottom line, Ford put out a truck that cost many people lots of money, and did little to help them out. The issues and failures of the 6.0 are in a class by itself.

He has stated before selling it and taking such a loss is not an option. I don't want to speak too much for him but it really aggravates me when people say such things as sell it and move on as if its that simple. Don't you think if it was that simple he would? And I agree with hodge comparing the 6.0 problems to cummins and dura max is ridiculous. The 6.0 was by far the worse. I have not spoke up until now but we took a loss on a 6.0 after having problems with it. And I think the quote about NASCAR is just plain silly. That's your way of judging if a manufacture has a quality product? What does NASCAR have to do with trucks in the slightest?

It was not directed at you. Dont be so thin skinned. I was referring to the so called high dollar internet lawyer on YouTube.

I agree. My 05 Dmax was such a POS and cost me so much time and work I sold it after 9 months. I did not like it but was in a position that I could move on. Cost me about $10,000 but getting my F350 has worked great for me.

Its pretty obvious. There are a number of us that have or had 6.0 Ford trucks with little or no issues. Then you have the internet trolls that sit in moms basement looking over the internet that are experts.

What about this guy right here that worked at the Ford dealer? Does he also not know? Or the fact that he is still employed by the same dealer group that owns the Ford dealer in town? Or the fact that he eats lunch once a month with the head diesel tech at that dealer?

Lots of guys have been lucky and had little to no problem with their 6.0. Many more have had many costly repairs that shouldn't have happened. I worked on a bunch of them myself. They are part of the reason why I work for a Honda dealer now.

To sit and say that the 6.0 Ford is anything but a failure compared to the DMax and Cummins is absurd.

I had an 04 6.0 F350, I loved the power but it was in the shop 33 times. I filed lemon ford gave me $12,500 told me to keep it. Tell this day I'm still shocked they gave me that much and told me to keep it. I ended up trading it in on a DMAX

I am not saying there are not those with issues but I know tons of guys with 6.0 Fords with no issues. Maybe 20% of my friends and customers have had issues and not a single cab off. Oil coolers, EGR valves, turbo.... I have seen cabs off but seen the same at the GM dealer around the corner.

I agree it was never handled right but there are tons of these trucks like mine and the majority of the respondents to this thread that have had good service.

None are without issues. Ford has the 6.0 & 6.4, Dodge with trannys and rust along with bad blocks from Brazil and electrical gremlins. Gm with torsion front end, injectors, glow plugs, freezing urea tanks, sub par interiors, pump rub transfer cases, dripping cooler lines, and early Allison pre 06 1 2 &3 clutches,.

I was just stating the problem I had with mine, But if I can find it ,I read an article once that said 06 and up had a higher reliability rating then the 7.3. The Article was going off of service records. Anyways my 06 DMax at 20,000 Needed head gaskets
