60\" box blade and TC24D

I found out today that I have a 60" box blade available from a friend any time I need to borrow it. Would 60" be too much for my TC24? I would be conditioning an existing gravel road that I normally do with my rear blade, but have to think the box blade would be much better. The box blade is a King Kutter, not sure of the weight. I have a FEL and can always load it with stone to keep the front end down. Just wondering if it is a waste of time getting the thing over to the house and hooked up only to find out its too much. I always thought 48" would be a more appropriate size - but not having to buy and store one for only once or twice a year sounds good to me!

I've got a 60" box blade and only use it on the B2910. Physically the TC24 will pick it up, but with my clay soil I think I'd stop my TC24 dead in its tracks. If your gravel drive is fairly loose, you might be able to get away with the BB, but if it is well packed I think the tractor will be struggling. The 60" BB is one of the few implments that I do not consider to be interchangable between the two tractors.

But I'd be curious to see how you do. Like I said, I've never even bothered to hook the BB onto the TC24, mainly because I've seen the larger B2910 struggle with it.

I have a 48" that will stop my 24. I would like to get a 60" myself. Will you be able to pull a full load? probably not but some of the driveway work I have done lately it would be nice to be further from the edge of the road. (High pucker factor). I think you will be pleased with it. Let us know how it goes.

I have a 60 inch box blade and it's too big for my TC18 (same size tractor). I only use it on my Ford 8N. I was even thinking a 54 inch box blade would be too large. I would probably go with a 48 inch box blade on my TC18.

I use a 5' box on my 8n.. your new tc 24 is more tractor than my 50+ year old 27oem hp 8n.

Soundguy.. if it starts to bog.. take less of a bite..

I use a 60" King Kutter BB behind my Kubota B2400 and haven't had any problems to speak of at all. Naturally with the rippers dropped I have to use 4wd and low range, but it will fill the box to overflow and keep on pulling. I will admit it won't pull big roots up as that seems to apply the brakes PDQ!! On the other hand my Father-in-Law's new JD4115 (same hp but 300lbs heavier than B2400) really struggles in low range to move it without the rippers. Borrow it and try it, but I bet it will work well for gravel driveway maintenance if not dirt moving projects.
