60 gallon air compressor

   / 60 gallon air compressor #21
I bought my 60 gal. upright from Tractor Supply a few years ago. It's dark green, and I think they called it Farm Boss or something like that. They also had the IR for a couple hundred more. Mine has given me good service, but right after I bought it, my son had something large he wanted to sandblast. The rig did the job, but I went into the shop to check on his work, and the 3/8" copper line from the compressor to the pump was glowing red. That's been several years ago, and I haven't seen it do that again. Of course, there hasn't been any need for sandblasting either.

That's why 2 stage pumps are better and more efficent. When air is compressed it creates heat which also causes condensation. A 2 stage pump can create more pressure at lower rpms with less heat and condensation because it compresses the air in two steps rather than one.

I have my 60 gal sitting on....get this..... 3 rubber boat trailer bumpers, they look like pucks but with a hole in the middle, their cheap and work great, I'll take a pic of it!!! Mine isn't bolted down cause I move a lot, but my next place hopefully will be my last so my shop will be set up accordingly.....PERMANENTLY:)

Would be greatly appreciated if someone could provide an upclose picture of how they bolted to the floor.

Did you drill holes in the concrete and then use concrete bolts and bolt to the floor that way?

I would like to bolt mine down for safety (mini-boss), just not sure the best way to go about.

Thanks,
Joel

Drill holes with a hammer drill.
Pound in hilti bolts
put rubber over bolts

I have radiant floor heat in my shop so drilling is not an option. I just took a used tractor trailer mudflap and place the compressor upon it. Works great and doesnt move a bit.

I also had a floor with radiant where holes were kind of a no no
I did learn the hard way on this so trust me put a strap around it
One of the guys working for us had an airline direct from the compressor (it was in the front of the least used bay in the shop) hooked on the front bumper backed out a Large thump was heard hoses and electrical fittings and lines torn from the wall.
not a pretty (or cheap) sight
