6284 Cut questions

Sounds like a pretty good price to me! That Cat diesel is bulletproof. I believe it has the 4WD on demand. It goes into 4WD when the rears start slipping. The MSRP on the tractor is about $12699 if I remember correctly. I'm sure the FEL and MMM add another $4k or so.

I asked the same question about a month ago, with few responses.
I am moving forward with getting a 6284 and did try it out at my place for several days. A small diesel fuel leak developed on the lift pump , which is to be repaired.
The machine seemed pretty good, the short time I had it so far.
I think the engine is really a Perkins, who is owned by Cat.
I'll post when I get some more to report.

My deal probably would'nt be a good "baseline" because there is a trade involved.
When I finally get it , I'll post a report.
I was a little disappointed/curious that I could'nt find out much about the machine. There must not be many out there or no one is talking /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
I will have a hoe and loader on the tractor. I think you asked about a backhoe; Woods makes them for Cub.
In addition from time to time, it'll be using a rear blower, 3 pt. chipper, 5' finish mower and blade.

GrayBeard, I was surprised you didn't get more responses as well about the 6284. I think the lack of responses are a combination of there not being 'lots' of those machines out there and two, the people that own them aren't necessarily a member of this forum or use the internet. Maybe lack of information is more positive about the tractor. I think if people had them and they were having trouble you would hear all the bad stuff.
Well went back and talked with the owner and he raised the price by 2k plus tax. I also found out the unit had several broken parts on the 2 point hitch. Cub is now out of the picture as there is not that many dealer in my area.
