6500 Filter

Howdy,
I am new here and look forward to "talking" with you. I was wondering if anyone knew what Fram number oil filter will fit my new 6500?

Don't know if FRAM makes a filter that will fit the 6500, Wix does, however I was told that WIX had no agreement with Mahindra and they were not offered for sale. I went to the mahindra dealer for mine. Think it was around $13.00. If you find an alternate source, please let all of us 6500 owners know about it. Good Luck

Have used both on my 6500. Both in stock at area auto supply stores. The Fram filter is the same size as the OEM filter. The Wix is a little smaller. You can use the numbers to cross reference some other brands like Donaldson and Napa Gold.

Bob- does your 6500 have the NE462R engine?

According to the manual, my engine model is NE465.

I would like to thank all you fine gentlemen who responded to my question. I have the info I need. I have a small beef farm in Bynum Texas and own a 3525 and a 6500. The 3525 is 2 years old and the 6500 is a year old. Both have been excellent tractors, no problems at all.

Guys...stick with the WIX or Mahindra filters...I've seen inside FRAM...very cheaply made. Trust me I've been selling parts over 32 years.

If you have any problems with the engine, better not let Mahindra know anything about the other brand of filters.
