I am thinking about getting a Branson 6530r with loader and maybe the backhoe for it and had a few questions I thought you guys could help me with.
1. Any experience with the 6530r?
2.How does the shuttle work? Do you have to clutch it or do you just let off of the gas and then shift?
3.How powerful are the backhoe attachments for these tractors in real life? I have read the specs on the website and just wanted some real world experience with them. I run a backhoe (case 580K) on my days off and was wondering how comparable they would be. I know the attachment doesn't have the force or lift capacity but how would it do digging? I mean like to set a cattle guard or something like that.

Thanks for your help and look foward to many more experiences on here.

I have a smaller model, the 3820i, and the 8620 backhoe. So, I can't for sure speak for the larger 6530r you're thinking about. But, I can say that you can't expect anywhere close to the same performance as the case 580. Just the fact that you have to move from your tractor seat, to the backhoe seat, will slow you down compared to a single function machine like the Case. But of couse, you can add lots of other implements to the branson. My view is that the Backhoe is useful for small jobs around our property like I put in a septic system, or digging footings. I have run larger backhoe's and would say that with a larger machine, things would go maybe three times faster.

The shuttle shifter requires the clutch.

Hopefully, this helps. I have been satisified with Branson's products.

Thanks for your reply! I was just wanting the backhoe for the same type of uses as you mentioned. I like the idea of it better than a dedicated backhoe. Just the use of other 3 point implements. I would use them much more than the backhoe. It seems like Branson is making a pretty good name for themselves I know a few people with them and they have nothing but good to say about them.

I have a 3510 with 12 speed shuttle shift. It has 3 ranges that you select and need to be stopped to shift on the left side of the seat. I work in 2nd range most of the time and drive on the road in 3rd range. It also has 4 speeds on the right of the seat that is fully syncronised. Then you have forward and reverse shuttle on the left side of the steering wheel. I will load bucket in a lower gear then shift and run, then dump, run back, down shift and load again. Levers are all convienent making this easy.
I have a Jinma Hoe that I got a deal on and modified the sub frame to fit my Branson. I have dug stumps, dug around drain field to cut roots, moved bushes and anything else I can find to do. They are not the big dog but they will bark just the same! :) And compared to a front hoe (shovel) they are awsome!
Look how many of those Termite hoes you see, I'm sure the Branson Hoe is as good.
