6v blinker assembly?

I've just added a rear work light to my 52' 8N. I would like to add a blinker element to it, so I have the option of using it as a blinker for when traveling across a road or something.

Are there any 6v blinker assemblies out there? Or do I need to pull out my soldering iron and build one ala radioshack?

Old vw's had 6v pos ground system right? Did they have blinkers?

My dad has a single rear facing light on his 9n, that came already equipped with both a clear work bulb and red flashing hazard light in one unit. Both controled from one switch mounted on the light. Not sure what brand or where he purchased it. I'm guessing NAPA, as he does most of his tractor parts shopping there. I will ask him next time I talk to him, but at least this tells you that they are out there.

Soundguy, The old bugs were 6v, but they were neg ground. I had to ask one of the old timmers here at work./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Would pos /neg ground make a defference with a realy?

If it just a relay with no diodes or other components it won't matter.

I think your right, and as I have found out, pos/neg grnd doesn't matter as it is a 2 pole hazard blinker.. I got one from napa, and it works great. I have my rear work light setup so I can use it as a hazard blinker.. or light.

Incedentally, the one I got was a simple 2 pole bimetalic strip... it just breaks the contacts when it heats up, then cools quickly and resets.

Now my rear work light can blink if I want to run down the road.
