Rear Blade 7’ Back Blade on 47hp Kubota L4760

I have an 8 foot Rhino @ 1000#+ on my M6040. Does great for snow and driveway ditches. It has offset, angle and tilt. It's not the "cats meow" for general driveway grading. Problem being - it's not a road grader. Front of tractor goes up - blade goes down and vice versa. To do a good job requires dexterity and experience.

It does just fine for roughing in new trails. Where I'm going to be following with my LPGS.

A 7 foot blade will be fine........I sure wouldn't go shorter.

Loader is 6’ for comparison. Thoughts on a 7’ blade on the back of this size of tractor.

Use a 8 ft. box blade on a 53 hp New Holland Workmaster 50. Handles it well and is a perfect counter weight for loader. 8 ft blade is lighter than box blade and wider than rear tractor wheels so it works great when scraping set at an angle (Still scrapes out tire tracks).

I have a mile long gravel driveway. When I plow snow - the eight foot blade is just the correct width. I have a few areas where it's a considerable drop off beyond the driveway edge. Best to be on firm driveway ground when plowing these areas.

I offset and angle when plowing snow. This means I cut a path about 72" to 76" wide with my 96" blade. Less than the 80" width of my tractor rear tires. The path is some 16" outside/beyond the rear tractor tire. This is the margin of safety I have to work with. If you will be using the blade to plow - remember when you angle - you loose cutting width.
