An odd consideration, as the 2 products differ by like twice the cost. (with the flail mower being the 2x more version)
yep.. the flail mower is the common hype item he posts.
most commercial mowers here don't use them.. can't be competitive with a mower that costs sooooooooomuch more than a rotary.. and offers fewer tangible benefits.
i think he must derive income from them somehow..

I too was looking for a 7' or 8' rotary cutter.
I was looking for Bush Hog 297 or 3008, Rhino 284 or TR96, Land pride RCR2684 or RCR3596, and John Deere 709 or MX8.
With 85 PTO HP, 5000lb 3pt and 8000lb operating weight I don't think any would be a problem.
I expected to pay about $2000 more for dual spindle.
I was looking for 'like new" used. I finally found a Bush Hog 297 that the seller claimed had only 50 hours and was a trade for a larger cutter. The only thing I could see wrong with it was the cap was missing for the instruction manual tube. I got it for $1600
with that hp.. a 10' 3pt would have been no problem.. and a 10-12' batwing easy.. and a 15' in light to medium material too.!

I would like to have a second cutter too! The 7' for my trails and larger for open areas! Are the 10'-12' batwings single wing or twin wing? A friend has a JD MX10 semi mounted and he told me he might down size to the MX8. I just did not want a 10' as my only cutter.
I could find uses for a ditch/bank mower too!![]()
