7040 has arrived!!

Gary, weren't you thinking about a discbine to run on your 7040? I found this one http://www.kvernelandgroup.com/irj/...ar Mounted/Vicon DMP 2401TC-2401RC-3001TC.doc
and the 7'10" version of it only calls for 60 pto hp. I have a real good friend who carries the Vicon brand I am going to check the prices on that 7'10" machine with the impeller type conditioner because it is lighter than the roller conditioner model.

Those look very interesting. My Kubota dealer also carries Vicon so I may have to talk to him about one. I always thought the 3pt hitch style disc mowers with conditioners were extremely heavy, but I guess with the diff. style impellers it would work ok on out tractors?

I really like the looks of that Hesston/Agco mower. I would prefer a pull behind over a 3 pt hitch model anyday.

Gary how do you like that cab? I am considering the exact same tractor have an 2004 M 6800 now, love it just wish I had got the cab, I am talking to my dealer now in Lenoir about trading it in on exactly what you got. Does the cd played sound good?

I really love the cab. This is the first cab tractor we have ever had on our farm and the first new tractor we have purchased since my grandfather bought a new Case 995 in 1979 ( I was 3 then and still remember seeing the tractor come in off the truck!!).

I know that when hay season rolls around (if we ever get any rain to have hay again) the cab is going to be great.

As far as the radio/cd player goes...it is nice to have one over not having one, but I cant say that the sound is exaxctly great. But, this is coming from someone that is a bit of a stereo/home theater nut.

Mine doesn't have the Kubota radio and speakers in it. The dealer had some stereo guy come in and put an Alpine radio and speakers in mine and it sounds awesome.

Probably not a bad idea, but my 7040 already had the factory radio in it when I bought it.

Not sure if this is correct or not, but my dealer informed me that the pigtale harness that plugs into the back of the factory radio will not connect to a non-factory radio. Therefore you have to splice the wiring harness to connect. He says that he has had a few non-factory radios die after a while with issues related to the spliced harness. Coming from an automotive background, I know that once you splice a harness, there are numorous nightmares that can arise at one point or another.
