No, i had the same thing happen and i only installed the kit components. What I wound up doing was putting a fitting with a copper crush washer to seal (pump port face was smooth) by-passing all the clips and rubber bs and adapted to the steel line with a hose jic one end 1/2" ferruled fitting on the tube end working great.

Well I will revive this thread again. Ford 3000, leaking at the nut diff end. Could not get a Ford kit so got the Sparex kit S66498. It comes with a new nut and the rubber big O ring thing and two copper washer things plus a white plastic washer.
Now the old nut is still on there because there is a steel washer sort of fixed or crimped to the pipe. Now the new kit has no steel washer. Should I remove this steel washer and old nut, or leave there and put the new stuff in front of it?
I am worried that if I remove the steel washer that the copper washer things wont hold the pipe and it will blow out. I have read here some have just removed the steel ring and nut and replaced it with the new and all OK. But my sparex kit may not be the same as their Ford kit.
Ideas please?

I have this tendency to replace all the parts in a kit... Last couple of time I tried to mix and match old and new it caused me more headaches....

Yeah, I have been stalling and thinking about it. Will bite the bullet today and cut off the steel crimped washer thing , replace the nut and put the new stuff on and see what happens. If it does not work I will pull all the steel pipe of and replace it with flexible.
PS I love that Thomas Jefferson quote. We are in fear all the time down here in OZ

I am hoping someone can help me, I am at my wits end. I got a pin hole in my hydraulic pressure line. I bought a new line (Part # D0NNH867D) When I received it I found that it didn't have the fittings on either end. I ordered 2 (FDS3714) fittings from yesterdays tractor. I put the fittings on the line and put the tractor all back together. The connection going into the sump has held fine with no issue, but the end going into the pump blew the line right out of the fitting. So I found a video on YouTube explaining that these cheap fittings that don't have the steel washer tend to not seal or leak so I bought 2 GR2117 because it was the only set I could find that had the steel washer. I put it all back together and this time it held for about 3 minutes before blowing the line right out of the fitting again. So fearing that I didn't get it back together just right I tried again. I put it all back together using a new fitting and made sure it was tight as I could humanly get it. It held for about 5 minutes and again blew the line right out of the fitting. I cannot get any fittings to hold the darn line in the fitting once the pressure has built up in the line. Please someone tell me there is a line assembly that has the end already on it or something that can hold my line in the fitting. PLEASE FOR MY SANITY! SOMEBODY HELP ME!

I had sucess by just replacing it with a flexible pipe. Got the hydraulic guys to crimp the fittings on and screwed it in. May not look so neat but it works.
