72" MMM. Dang, its heavy!!

It's been a whilr since I;ve posted but this post intrigues me . I have a 72" mm 7 iron on my 3520 anbd yes it's better on concrete but I've done it on dirt too. Yes it's very heavy but with this size of tractor you have to get as big as you can get for trimming purposes. I don't know if the drive overs are the ticket or not. I generally take it off every other week and give it a good power wash and grease. It is a rugged yet smoooth cutting deck.

I have a winch on my gator so I winch a 72" 7 Iron under my 3720. Its still a pain but its much easier than man handling it under.

I put new blades on the 72" MMM for my 955 over the weekend. Other than the center blade bolt being stripped, it went OK (I replaced all three bolts and washers. $30 at my dealer):smiley_aafz:

Afterwards I put the deck on the tractor, and man, it seems to get harder every time I put it on. That thing has to weigh 300 pounds. Solid as a rock. I actually had to have a friend come by and help me slide it under the tractor.

Do any of you folks have an easier way of storing or moving such a heavy mower? I like its construction, but I'm not getting any younger.

The one on my 4310, was about 600 pounds according to my local service shop. The MMM on my 3520 s up there too. The 72D is even heavier.
