723 Loader doesn\'t float
Hi guys. Been following the forum for some time and this is my first post -
I'm about ready to do my 400 hr service and I figured it would be a good time to fix the loader.
At about 300 hrs. my LA723 (w/Herco control valve) wouldn't stay in the float position. I took the end off the spool and found that the cup with the ball bearings, spring, etc. was full of gunk and rust. Dealer said that this happens because of water leakage (my 3830 is garaged but does get pressure washed now and then) and sold me a new 'kit' for about $100. I replaced all the parts but the float position still isn't working properly.
I can feel the detent position when pushing the lever forward and the loader will rapidly bleed down but the lever will not stay locked in the detent position. Not too big a deal except in case of an emergency I have to hold the lever in position.
Anyone have any experience adjusting the control valve unit? Thanks.
Gary
