Good point just seems that 99% of the time on mine it's the gear but I have had to replace the drive shaft.

I think I may end up having to get another instrument cluster. the needle on the tach itself is broken so if it was working I couldn't get an exact reading on how many RPM's I was running. But I'm having problems reconnecting the instrument cluster. I hooked it back up just like it was but now when I start the tractor the fuel guage goes all the way past the full mark and the temperature hand goes all the way to the hot side and stays there. I have checked to make sure I connected it back just like it was when i disconnected it but it's still not working correctly. Can anyone help?

Did you bypass the voltage stabilizer ( not regulator)
