I am looking at the 7500 and 4100. Has anyone else compared these two. What did you come up with.

Mike,

Yes - I considered those two, plus the NH TC21D and the Kubota B2410. All of them are almost identical in physical size. Between the B7500 and the 4100, the 4100 wins out in hydraulic pump capacity, loader lift capacity, and in overall ease of implement attachment/detachment (I think the last one is a very narrow advantage). Also, the 4100 has 3ph position control while the B7500 does not. The B7500 wins out in 3PH lift capacity and in engine horsepower. I also believe the Kubota engine and drivetrain are a bit smoother than the Yanmar. Around here the B7500 would be about $1500 or so cheaper than the 4100.

With all that said, your own preference that develops when you drive each will probably outweigh any of the above 'specs'. There is also a lot of discussion in the archives that you can tap into - these two tractors have been discussed and compared quite a bit.

Hope that helps. Welcome aboard.

Rob

I also compared the two and in the end, I chose the 7500 partly because it was over $1,000.00 less and could accomplish the same tasks. That said,a year later I ended up trading up to the 2710 for a host of reasons and cosidered the 2410 but the dealer did not have one in stock so I got a great deal on the 2710. All in all I think the important thing is to choose the one that feels the most comfortable and the one you can afford.

Mike,
I have to agree with Wheeldog, for me the biggest differences were the 4100 had position control, and the 7500 was 1800 dollars less in my area. Both are great tractors pick the one that you feel most comfortable with. Test both machines, preferably on your property. Welcome to the board and good luck.

the jd dealer out here was not willing to cut any deal on a 4100 it would have been 2,400.00 more than the price on the 7500 so there was no choice.

I had the same experience in that Deere dealer was 2-3k higher for same package and not willing to deal, so bought kubota.

mike: as i mentioned before, did not buy the 7500(went to 2400) but did compare 7500 and 4100 and tc21. i would have purchased the 7500! did not like the NH and the jd was way more than the kubota. they are both fine machines, don't see why the jd. should be that much more? in MHO go orange.

Thanks for all the feedback. What has me wanting the JD is the lifting capacity of the loader and the break away weight.
Anyone with a 7500 wish they had more lift, or am I worrying about something I will never need?

Mike,

I'd be careful with the loader ratings. The 4100 has an advantage over the B7500 based on lift capacity at the pivot pin (882 lb v. 770 lb), but if I remember right the JD breakout force rating looked a little flukey. I think they're measuring it differently than Kubota does. Anyway, I don't think you'd notice much difference in 'real world' applications between the two. I think I could fill the bucket on my loader with just about anything and still not get on the relief valve.

Mike , I was faced with a similar decision 7500, 4100 and TC 21 D. I settled on the NH. I personally liked it better. Try them all, visit the dealers and READ all you can on this board. Many have faced the same purchase decision. The ultimate decision will be yours and what you want.

Mike, I compared the two models and bought a 4100. But I would agree that the lifting capacity is not much of an issue. I know that I seldom tax the full capacity of either my loader or 3ph. But I would recommend the 4100 for one reason -it has 3ph position control and the B-7500 doesn't. I can't imagine doing any meaningful work with a rear-mounted implement without having position control. Why Kubota fails to include such a common and simple feature on what is otherwise a very fine tractor is beyond my understanding. On another note, I have been very pleased with the quality and performance of my 4100.

Some of this is new to me. Is Position Control important? I plan to buy a post hole digger...will I regret not having PC when using this implement...????

/ 7500 vs 4100 #13
mike2001,

Well that depends, do you want to dig the hole all the way
down until you decide to stop and pull it up or do you want
to set a depth on the 3pt position control and let it stop
when it gets there? Keep in mind neither has down force
on the 3pt.

Instead of the UP or DOWN choices on the control where you
return to netural to stop it in the middle of full up or
full down, position control lets you move anywhere in the
middle and that is where it will stop (or position itself).

The 7500 narrow model has position control so it's too bad
they couldn't offer it as an option on the others.

Hope that helps,
Michael

heck mike! anyone WITH any tractor at one time or another wishes they had more lift. but u get what u need for MOST of your jobs, other wise we would all be sitting here with a monster machine. i have pc on my 2400, it is useful at times but depending on your needs it may not be essential.
