Buying MX6000 Cab

So my dealer has me quoted out with the MX6000HSTC with 3 rear remotes, #2 is a float, third function up front, rim guard filled rears, LA1055 Loader with HD bucket L2296 which is pre drilled for cutting edge. R14's, Rear wiper, Rear Defrost, 130a Alt, Side mirrors, block heater but not the CCV heat option.

Items I would need to add is the drawbar for hitch, arm rests, radio, easy to do after the fact though.

He has this unit on the lot, has had it about 6 months. Question is price, This is coming in at 60k plus tax. I am just wondering at this price point if this is a good unit vs going for the Grand L, my main thing is I need the lift Capacity for picking up trees.

Maybe I need a spend a little more on the grand? I am wondering if I will kick myself for not getting the HST+ and the lower fuel fill is really nice on the grands. Always a tough call.
Another thing regarding the Grand L to think about is the availability of a mid pto allowing for a front mount snow blower. This might be important to consider, depending on the current or future condition of your cervical spine.

Yes, this is very true, no mid pto option on the MX, my mighty little massey with the front snowblower does work great and I can only imagine how nice it would be in a heated cab.

Everyone has added some great info on this subject and I appreciate it.

I contacted my Third dealer who had a new 2023 L4760HSTC with no time on it and will sell at "invoice". So I get a qoute and all is looking good, then there are the fees, 7500 in fee's that no other dealer is charging. I like the 4760 with the HST+ and the lower level fuel fill and external rear lift arms. But with the same addons as the MX the L is still more by 7K. Assembly fee is 5400, Transport fee 1500, Kubota Finace filing fee of over 600. Is this normal and the other 2 dealers forgot to add to the invoice? I am not sure if a lower HP tractor is worth the extra money and is been sitting for 2 years. I understand dealer needs to make money, but these fees seem excessive. Am I wrong. I will contact them back after I hear what others have experienced.

Thanks everyone for all the guidance and help!

I wonder if you could buy it for $5400 less and assemble it yourself?

Seems pretty tacky to charge for assembly on a tractor . . . and list it as an "add-on" fee.

I wouldn't worry about how various dealers arrive at their price or itemize it. Just look at the final bottom dollar as the PRICE and go from there.

Yeah, I guess that is one way to look at it, bottom line is 62k plus tax. problem I have is that there are 3 dealers near me, but none have the same units, to order one they all just give you prices from the kubota site. I just want to make sure I am not overpaying for something too bad.. ha!

It's kind of a sleazy trick to sell it "at invoice" and then add the profit back in via a new fee. They're hoping you're too dumb to realize what they're doing. Yea in the end it doesn't matter how they get to the number but that would still piss me off.

So to clearify, the assembly fee is to build it with the options I picked

Third Function
3 Rear Remotes
High Output Alt
Rear wiper
Rear Defrost

I am not a tractor tech, but I do build extremly high end cars for a living, so maybe it would be best to just get the parts and waste my own time and save 5k.

So 35 hours of labor he said to install those options. That is the fee.

Some much needed accessories, good to have them added in during purchase!

35 hours sounds high for those items. They're kits, designed to be installed easily. They might take me 35 hours but I'm slow and have not done those before like the guy installing them probably has. You being a pro are probably a faster mechanic than I am.

OTOH if you make more than $168/hr, or just don't want to deal with it, maybe its better to just pay for it.

I agree $85-100 per hour should cover the overhead and then some, so $3000-3500 to add these options would be high, but what was the 2023 price vs what is the current 2025 price? The dealer has carrying costs etc,,

Seems like there is some padding and adding going on here,
