I measured my deck when full up. The measurement point is on the left side bottom edge of the deck at the half way point between front and rear. It was 5 and one half inches.

hmm mine is only 4 inches. On the rear "turn buckles" how much thread do you have showing as I am sure that is where my 1.5" could be lost if yours is as tight as possible.

Post number 13 has pictures of my setup. Note that the standard setup is a fixed length on one side and adjustable on the other side only for leveling.

I assume from what you have said that you do not have the hydraulic cylinder on yours.

OK so i have adjustable links on both sides and mine are alot shorter than yours. Now looking at your height on the "upper" lift bracket yours is almost level with the ground and mine are sitting atleast 2" lower. With the deck removed and the control knob lifted at max height it sits where yours is but when i attached the deck i lowered the rockshaft lever then lowered the control knob till i could get my lock pins in. However thinking this through i think that since there was no weight on the brackets when i lowered the rockshaft lever the brackets did not move until i lowered the control knob, could this be my problem?

You are correct assuming that i do not have the hydraulic cylinder i am using the rockshaft lever to lower and raise the deck. Now i still have my tiller on the back as the height to mow the lawn the tiller is sitting quite high.

Not completely sure if I understand your question. The knob on the floor has nothing to do with how high the deck can go. It can only limit how low the deck can go. It is a pin in a slot type arrangement, similar to what you see on the solid lift link picture. The knob sets the limit position of the slot. When attaching the deck, the knob needs to be set to its lowest setting so the tractor lift arms can be moved to their lowest setting for connecting to the deck. Then the deck can be raised to its highest setting before then setting the knob to however low you want the deck to be when you lower it for mowing. Always raise the deck full up before changing the knob setting to take the weight off of it. You should be able to measure the maximum height of the deck regardless of the knob position.

If somehow there is an oddball problem with the slot causing a limited up range, then test that by raising the deck with the knob already at its highest setting, and then seeing if the knob can be turned an additional amount for a still higher setting. If it will turn higher, then raise the deck higher. Hard to see this occurring unless something is bent, but worth a try.

so i did to correctly, i thought that maybe i had to jack up the deck to the height of the lift arms in order to be at max height.

I have never dealt with it, but looking at the drawing it might be possible to get more height by adjusting the yoke, part number 2. If you do, watch out for clearances around the deck allowing for movement during use, especially near the tires. Remember though you will never get as much ground clearance as you would probably like. I wish it were more, but its not.

Looking closer at the drawing, I doubt the yoke hole goes clean through but you could look.

yea im going to just leave it. I thought about adjusting what you said but i might gain 1" not worth it. I will just take the deck off when i require ground clearance.

Thanks for your help JD.

Sounds good. Probably for the best. Glad you got set up for mowing now.

so instead of starting a new thread during this winter id like to check out my mower deck as the old owner did some repairs im not 100% sure about is there a manual online somewhere i can look at for repair procedures, gear oil, removal of blades and if the drive shaft should have a spring pin or a shear pin where it meets the gear box.

thanks
