12 PSI would be a little on the light side if you had a loader and it was loaded. Without a loader, 12 PSI should work very well. You will know if you are not correctly inflated by various ways. The obvious is the tire squashes down excessively under a load. If ever you really put the power to the wheels and actually spin the rim inside of the tire, your again underinflated. On the Michelin site (this is with their tires by the way) they give you the PSI based on whether your tractors running duals, the tractors weight for each axle and an important factor, what the maximum speed you would use for any duration. My neighbors 790 with R1's is inflated to about 15 PSI or less on the rears and 20 PSI on the fronts. His gauge only goes to 20 PSI on the lowest range.
