Although the recommendation for the 84"rear finish mower is 30 to 50 hp., I would agree with Mreeeter that the B2910HSD is just not enough tractor for this mower. I think that it would overpower the 3pt and you could get the "tail shaking the dog" thing happening. A 72" is a good fit for your tractor.

I use a 84" mower on my old International which granted is much heavier then your Kubota 2910, but the finish mower seems to need very little power. On top of that, the entire weight rests on the ground on four pneumatic tires. The biggest issue may be 3 pt hitch lift capacity needed to get the mower from place to place. I am not sure what mine weighs, but the finish mowers are relatively light compared to the bush hog type which I also have in an 80" size. My gut feeling would be that if your able to put a 72" on, an additional 12" will not add much more load and providing its used just for finish mowing on grass that is kept up with, it will work well. The only time my International (about 40 PTO HP) even knows its back there is when I go through very tall and dense weeds. The finish mower is just not designed to cut well under those conditions. My mower is a Landpride. Rat...

Bottom Line: This is a issue where a heavier tractor is superior to a lighter-weight tractor, assuming that your soil conditions will allow the heavier tractor.
I would say that the B2910 has all of the PTO horsepower needed to drive the 84" mower, and suspect that the 3-point hitch will handle the weight of the mower just fine (if adequately counter-balanced by a FEL or other weights), but that the mower's weight could push the fairly light-weight B2910 around some, which could create a very dangerous situation on slopes.
I have an older B2150HST (24hp) with FEL that I run a 72" rear mower with. (The B2150 was the top-of-the line B-series Kubota prior to the B2710. According to Kubota Sales Brochures, the B2150 is slightly HEAVIER than the B2710 / 2910). I have no problems running the 72" mower on level or mild (dry) slopes, but on wet slopes or steeper slopes I have to use extreme caution when travelling down the slope as the mower has a tendancy to push the tractor sideways as it attempts to reach the bottom of the hill before the tractor. Going up hills is not a problem since I keep the FEL installed; however, I sometimes have to raise the mower off the ground to get better traction on the rear wheels.
