I am about to hit 200hrs myself. I bought the $100 kit from my dealer that included the $85 trans filter. I think this kit is the only way to buy filters for the 3X20s. My dealer after ordering my kit said they will be doing the same for their fluid changes in teh spring since it such a good value. They did not know it existed for the 3X20 series until I had them order mine.

Mike, do you have the part # for the filter pack? That may help a lot of members here.

He he.. I've always said that the green pigment in JD paint was made from ground up money from JD's customes pockets.

( For what it's worth.. the air filter(s) on my NH are kinda pricey too.. and the HYD filter is the sige of a gallon paint can... it isn't as expensive as your green one.. but it is pricey too.. cheaper than having the pump overhauled and the hyd system flushed then refilled with 15 gallons of oil.. on my NH the oil change for the rear sump is the single biggest expense.. nearly 100$ in oil if you use the cheaper utf.. and nearly 150$ for dealer stuff.)

I decided to change the engine oil and filter, and the hydro fluid and filter at 50 hours. It's not really due until 200 and 400 hours respectively. But I figured it would be cheap insurance. Turns out this insurance really is not that cheap.

The attached bill shows a total parts cost of $220.20. The single biggest expense was the hydro filter, which is $85.49. This is not a typo. My dealer is a relatively high volume CUT dealer with two locations. They did not have this filter in stock and had NEVER SOLD ONE BEFORE! The parts guy said people don't bother to change this filter because it costs too much.

Is this true? Has anyone else ever changed this filter on their 3X20?

I know this is an old thread but I figured I would post anyway. I called the dealer yesterday about pricing 2 5 gal. buckets of LV Hygard and the LVA13065 filter. The price for the oil was actually lower which I was kind of surprised at, only $53.55. But I was a little shocked when he said $98.56 for the hydro filter, hmm.

I'm not surprised, heck a new filter for an El Cheapo shop vac costs over $20. Some filters are worth cleaning if you have the time and a respirator for acetone fumes.
