855 won\'t turn over

Went out to start my deere the other day, turned over pretty good for a minute, then nothing. I suspect an idiot switch somewhere is not working but I'm not sure. This ever happen to anyone here? Any body know where I could find a wiring diagram for this tractor so i could troubleshoot it? Thanks..........Mike /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

When you turn the key switch to the ON position you should be able to hear the fuel cut off solenoid open up. That would be the first thing to look for. Is the tractor getting fuel?

fuel solenoid does not click on when I turn the key on, but I figured it is in the samecircuit as the starter solenoid. Any body know where th neutral safety switch is on an 855?

The neutral switch is hard to see. It is inside the frame rails on the hydro control linkage. There is also a safety switch on the pto. Make sure it is fully disengaged. If you remove the panel between your legs, you can access the neutral switch.

If you can get some one to turn the switch on while you are watching under the hood you should be able to see the fuel solenoid open.

This happens to me several times a year. The lower wire on the starter has a loose connection. The wire is attached to the starter using a spade terminal, and the wire crimp connector will vibrate loose from the spade on the starter. The wire to crimp connector seems fine. Remove the left side engine panel, and look for the lower wire on the starter. Just push it gently back into position and see if that works.
