'89 7610 MFWD Circuit / Hydraulic Fluid

This is my first post here, although I have been using the site to glean information quite a while now, it's amazing how much knowledge is stored here. That said, I recently bought a used 1989 7610. I'm now in the process of going through all the wiring and replacing filters and fluids. I found a broken wire that appears to go into the transfer case for the FWD. I'm thinking that the FWD is either engaged or disengaged by 12 volts on this wire. Does anyone know which it is?

I'm also wondering what type of fluid I should be using to fill the filler neck located on the rear of the tractor next to the remotes?

While I'm at it does the front axle take gear lube or Hydraulic oil? What about the wheel bearings?

The MFD clutch is spring applied, hydraulic disengagement. Voltage is present at the solenoid to open the solenoid valve and disengage the clutch.
The transmission/rear axle/differential requires New Holland 134 hydraulic oil or another oil meeting the 134D specification. The front axle center section and hubs call for 134 or its equivalent as well. You will hear that 80w-90 GL-5 is suitable for front axle components. I prefer 134, but I don't argue with those who would use gear lube in this application.
