Lots a spray oil either way.

Hot/cool helps, cycles break rust

Got the pin out in the press, with lots of heat. It really protested, but it came! Son welded new ends on the lower lift arms and sleeved the non-adjustable rod between the upper arm and lower are. It had been broken and patched quite crudely. Looks great now. Got the bushing out of the axle center. Had a good day.
I think one more day wire brushing the tractor itself, and I'm ready to start on fenders, hood and wheels. DSC00001.JPGDSC00002.JPGDSC00003.JPGDSC00004.JPGDSC00004.JPGView attachment 407321DSC00008.JPG

I'm going to forgive you for not posting pictures earlier than this, as long as you post up more pics as you go along. ;)

Been having trouble with the camera, doesn't always want to recognize the memory stick. When it does work, I take too many pix. I think I finally got all the wire brushing done on the tractor itself, time to set up the little outdoor sand blaster and start on the wheels. The "new" wheel isn't as pristine as I thought it was. It's been sandblasted and painted, but has some pitting around the bead, so I'm gonna re-blast it and try some 2 part epoxy to bring back a better surface. Haven't got the tires off the other rims yet, have to take them to town. I know one of them is shot, the other looks pretty good from the outside.

Putzed with that rim all afternoon! It was blasted and painted when I bought it, thought I was gonna improve on it. Must be epoxy paint on it, sandblaster doesn't hardly touch it. Lots of runs that I knocked off with an abrasive pad. Painted a section inside with 2 part brushable gel coat see if that smoothes it out a little.

Rough afternoon! Drove a little over 100 miles round trip to Harbor freight to purchase a pressure abrasive blaster. I have an old blaster cabinet, and an old grainger siphon blaster that have served me well for probably over 35 years. After reading on the internet about how great pressure pot blasters were, I made the trip, and bought the 40# unit, and bought it home. I stopped by TSC and bought 2 bags of 20/40 black diamond abrasive (which I use in my blast cabinet and the old grainger siphon unit all the time, and came home and tried it out. What a disappointment! I went through an entire 60# bag of blast media, and all it would do is plug up. Decided the thing to do was to call HF customer svc. Twice, I was told that there were more than 15 people ahead of me, but since I have Majic Jack, after 15 mins, 40 sec both times, I got a recording that state they were having system problems, and could not answer my call. Being as stubborn as I am, I tried the 3rd time, and 14+minutes into the call, got a live person. I had a big enough compressor, I had adjusted all the pressures etc. that
their manual called for, so he was stumped. When I suggested that the solution was a larger nozzle, he said I should go back to HF and buy their abrasive. When I did the comparison of TSC abrasive @ $7.49 vs. HF @49.95, he threw up his hands, and had no solution. I guess I'll put it back in the box, go back to my old Grainger pot and get my money back. I use a lot of HF tools, and am not usually disappointed. I know they are not Snap On, so don't expect world class, but this is really frustrating,

what model of HF blaster was it, one of the spot blasters or the pot blaster? I had considered getting a cheap sandblasted several times over the years, but then I'd have to upgrade compressor, and probably run 220V to the shed...

Edit: Now that I reread, seems you had the 40# pot one,
