The tractor is starting to creep a bit, there are rods underneath, but they adjust pedal travel, not centering, does anyone know how to adjust the hydro on this? Also, I sold a kubota to buy this tractor, I have noticed that the Kubota engine was alot smoother, is this normal for a J.D.? Both were/are 3 cylinder diesels, Thanks,Paul.

Crawl under your tractor and spot the spring that is under the right side of the frame. The rear of the spring attaches to a vertical plate that is the HST neutraling mechanism. It pivots on a bolt attached to the HST. The top end has a bearing that rides in a "V" notch in a plate attached to the HST. The bolt at the HST is actually an eccentric bolt. Loosening this bolt, rotating slightly until the wheels stop moving, then retightening it will do the trick. Go to the online parts catalgo and look for part number M90248. That is the eccentric that needs adjusted.

Obviously, you want the tractor securely jacked up while you are doing this adjustment.
As for the engine roughness, most of the Yanmar engines this size are direct injection, while Kubota uses indirect injection. My understanding is that direct injection engines have better torque and cold starting, but the downside is that they are noisier and rougher sounding than indirect injections engines.

Thanks for the info, I was under there today not knowing what to adjust, I ended up just adjusting the pedals up and down, the number you mentioned does not come up in the parts catalog, is there a differant # for that part? I can't seem to find where that adjustment is looking thru the catalog? Thanks again, Paul.
