955 - Looking to add a 430 loader

Hello - I found myself a nice 430 loader, but my local dealer informed the attachment brackets to make it work are over $1100.00....ouch...I have looked at the parts diagram and the brackets seem pretty basic.

One of my friends is a structural welder and says it would be pretty easy to replicate the brackets if he could get some good pictures and accurate dimesions....sssooooo.....is there anyone with a 420 or 430 loader on their 955/855 who is able to provide me the pics and dimensions?

I have a set of brackets that came with my tractor when i bought it used. It just had a 300x loader installed before I got it but came with the mounts from the old loader (maybe a 420). The tractor is a 2001 4300. I will look for a pic of the mounts and post it. If you can check to see if they will fit your application. You never know who might have what you need!

Thank you. Looking at JDparts.com, the 4300 uses a different mounting system then my 955 for the 420/430 loaders. Unfortunately, I may have to suck it up and buy atleast one side from JD and use it to make the other. Thanks again...

Do you think it is just the mounting flange where it bolts to the tractor? It would be very easy to cut off and weld on a new flange with the correct bolt pattern. You can have these for free if you think they would be of use to you. I am in Ontario but run a car hauler truck into OH, MI, PA, NY quite frequently if that helps. Also know other truck drivers that may be helpfull.:thumbsup:

You might be onto something, i need to add a tube (not bolted on a 955), but I might be able to wrk with that. I live in southern New Hampshire....do your trucking friends come my way?

Bit the bullet and bought all new JD parts....430 loader works great....very happy with it.

I looked at this before I found a 70A for my 955. If I remember right, it was going to cost somewhere around $800. Do you mind sharing what it cost you for the 955/430 brackets? Pics?

I paid approximately $1200 for two main brackets , the front support and hardware. . I ordered everything from greenfarmparts.com , they were great to work with.

I don't have pics currently....59" blower on it now, but will post some when I reinstall the FEL.
