My 955 has a kill switch under the seat that allows you to operate the PTO while off the tractor. In order to do this, you flip the seat forward and pull the switch up. When I do this, the PTO runs fine. When I sit on the seat, the PTO will not run. The switch automatically goes back down when you sit on the seat. Is this switch bad? Or is there another kill switch I need to be looking for?

Thanks

Could be the time delay control module (black box mounted directly below the ignition switch). When you pull the switch up under the seat, you bypass the TDCM. With the seat down, the PTO functions go through the TDCM... if it is bad, it won't energize the PTO magnet on the engage lever.

Any kind of quick test to see if it's bad? Or just buy a new one and hope for the best? :)

If you don't own/use a electrical meter, than yes, replace and hope.

Not so. All you need is a jumper wire to test. First, remove the wiring harness connecetor from the seat switch and install a jumper wire from the Yellow wire to the Pink/White wire. Now try the PTO... if it works, then the seat switch is bad. If it still doesn't work, access the TDC Module and disconnect the 4-pin harness. Install a jumper wire from the Yellow wire to the Blue wire on the tractor side of the harness. If the PTO then works, the TDC module has crapped out.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about. Thanks
