990 lifting capacity

How much weight can you lift with the FEL on a 990??

I had bags of sand that weighed about 1,000 pounds each. I lifted them with my 990 but it kind of struggled lifting them higher than about 6 feet or so. The Deere web site says 1700lb lifing capacity but doesn't specify if that is for the FEL or the 3 point.

I just went through the specs for the 990 (on the Deere website). Per the specs, the 990 can lift 1573 lbs 24" aft of the link arms (lower links).

Which loader do you have? I'd take a look at the loader manual.
Did you have the RPM up to 2000 or better? If not, you might want to when lifting that much.

The loader is a 300cx. I have lifted some big rocks in the past that would have weighed more that the bag of sand.. but maybe it was wet? it was an estimated 1/3 yard but came from Lowe's and could have been a bit more.
