I know that machinery such as mowers can and do cross-contaminate. How is that done by fertilization-- also by machinery?

Yes, they use a stand on gas powered buggy that they drive around the property. It has 4 golf cart size tires and it articulates in the middle like a loader does.

I refer to my "country lawn" as a 35mph lawn. As long as your driving by at 35mph or better it looks pretty good.

I have about 13 acres of field grass. I keep about a 1/4 of an acre looking nice. No irrigation or fertilizer, but I use crab grass preventer and this year will try to get rid of some of the clover. Each year I spray a dozen or so frisbee sized spots of wire grass and reseed. I know I can't win with the wire grass, but all I am shooting for is a draw.

For the rest of my country lawn, I shoot for "good from afar, but far from good."
