This might be to easy but check the fan belt. If it is loose it can make funny noises. It way on my 4300 made squeaking sound sometimes. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

rockyridgefarm,

The boom is normal if you are letting the BH hit one of its
stops.

With time you will learn to feather the controls. One thing
you can do is keep your RPMs down on the tractor. The
more RPMs the faster the BH operates. I don't think that
means it works "stronger" just faster. If you slow the RPMs
it will allow you to react to the BH movements.

Later,
Dan

You re exactly right, now I remember reading that from the manual. Higher rpm = faster movement, strength is based on psi of system.

Thanks!

I am having the same "squeak" problem with the left front wheel on my new 4210. It sounds like rubber rubbing on something. I can raise the front wheels with the fel and turn the wheel by hand and hear it. After using the tractor and heating everything up, it gets worse. I can hear it even with the engine noise. Have you been able to discover the cause yet?

I sent a PM to joecdeere, who might be able to locate a DTAC on this. I have been very careful about the wheel torque, as this could be the problem. But raising with FEL and turning by hand sounds like its an internal seal, or something.

You are right about one thing, it is SOME kinda squeak to hear over the engine, and mowing. My wife heard it first, but I had NO Problem hearing it.

Still got the squeak. Stopped by the JD dealer and the shop foreman said I should bring it in if it can be heard over the engine noise. Wish I could find out more before I let them mess with it. I really think it sounds like a rubber oil seal of some type. I wonder if some change was made in the supplier or type of rubber seal used. Has anybody else had this trouble with the ten series? I have managed to put 25 hours on it and I don't think it is going to go away.

I raised mine up, and turned by hand. The squeak was on the right side, then. It seems to be coming from the drive. My gear oil barely shows on the dipstick, but I can't imagine that it is so low that it would cause the squeak. It was suggested that I raise the whole thing up, and run in 4wd. I'll give that a shot.

Mike
Did you ever find out what the squeak was from. I just got my 4310 last week and with 14 hours on it, I noticed the same thing.
Thanks
Mark

Hey, you haven't signed up for Club4310, yet... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Welcomr to the board...

It SEEMS to have settled down... I topped off the front oil. But we have the 47 on back, and haven't been mowing lately. I'll try it again. It seems to be related to continual motion (like mowing)

Did you buy from K C Canary? They seem to be really sharp on the 4x10's...
