A couple of new owner questions

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I did buy from KC Canary. They have been great so far. I was going to call them on this noise, when I remembered reading this thread some time ago. I also have the 47 BH and have spent most of the week working "playing" with that and the FEL. Today was the first chance I have had to mow here in NY since the day I got the tractor. I put the first 4 hours on it mowing when it came of the truck. We have been getting rain every day for the past two weeks. So today was the second time I have mowed with it. I checked the same things you did: front axle fluid and torque on the wheels. It still squeaks. I will give KC a call on monday and see what they have to say.

I will try to get some pics up soon, but I need to give the 4310 a good washing first /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Thanks
\Mark

Dirty's OK!

I will like to hear what Jason says on the squeak.

Here is something joecdeere sent me:

on the squeak...... they and I agree that only dry metal squeaks
so, our thoughts were,
1) are you sure it is in the "wheel" area, and not the pivot for the axle assy. itself
2) if you raise up the front with your loader, shut down your engine and turn the wheel by hand, do you hear it, also rock the axle itself while all of it is in the air, also turn the wheel left and right, with wheel still, and with someone turning it by hand.
3) I know it's a dumb thing, but is there oil in both the hub area and center housing. I'd pull the hub drain plug on the side thats making the noise and make sure the oil is getting
all the way to where it should.
4) In my heart, with no failure showing yet I think it's a dry seal on the axle hub, that's if you find everything else ok.
If it were mine, I'd give the seal of the axle area a good squirt of penetrating oil (won't hurt anything) and drive it a little and see if it quits.
5) Also, belts squeak and alternator bearings could too
(just ideas as I type)

maybe that'll help...
