No. Northwood was actually one of the two dealers I was talking to. They opened a new store in Whately MA only 45 miles from me, but they don't have a service department there yet. They said the truck all service work to the main store in Northwood NH at this time and that is 130 miles from me. I figured if I needed to do that then the down time just from trucking would double the job since they don't make the run every day. They wait until they have a full truck so it just depends on what they have going on at the time. They were more than happy to work with me but I just didn't like the distance.

We also have a store in Newport, NH that is a _little_ closer to you.
We will have a service area in Whatley soon!

why dont you post the name of the dealer that treats people that way? i am buying a tractor in upstate new york and dont want to support a dealer like that. it seems sad but common with tractors for dealers to abuse customers who didnt purchase from them.

This time of year, most tractor shops are wide open. Warranty claims on your $35,000 tractor purchased elsewhere are hard to bother with when he has multi-million dollar long term customers waiting on service so they can get back to work. Or someone else that bought the same $37,000 tractor needing warranty work.

I ain't knocking you........but you got what you paid for. Maybe the finance company can help you out, but don't count on it. MF is who I would call. A dealer is paid to service the warranty no matter where you buy the tractor from.

But at the end of the day, it looks to me like you need to find somewhere else to get service from and bid this particular dealer good-bye. Give someone else your business and build a relationship with them.

Yeah, and I would get read of the POS then. A MF dealer is a MF dealer and will support warranty work from any MF tractor owner regardless of wether or not they purchesed it from them. Same goes with anything else. To all you dealers-get it through your heads that you are the embassadars of the manufacturer. You make them look bad by pulling this kind of BS. As for the origional poster-here is what you should do, and I say this because I'm 100% on you side-get rid of it. Tractors break and even if you do finally get this resolved your going to have more headaches down the road.
Honestly-if this was me and a dealership pulled this on me I would never buy another product from the manufacturer again. Chevy did that to me back in the 80s and guess what-i have not or never will buy another Chevy product again since!

I haven't read the rules per say but I don't think thats allowed on here. I do knock them every chance I get with anyone I to talking tractors, lawn mower, chain saws, etc as you get the point. Anyway I have been getting great service from Big Boys Toys. I have purchased everything that I have needed from them since this incident and he is always willing to answer my questions. In fact I am in the search mode for a 3pt log splitter right now and the first person I called was Big Boys. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet for the splitter but I can tell ya I know who I am definitely not going to buy it from.....

I hear ya there, and it all makes sense. I love the tractor and don't think I will ever get rid of it. I have put another 50 hours on it this summer since all that went down earlier this year and I have not had any problems. Thanks for the support. As I said in the last post I knock that dealer any chance I get and give the whole story. It is what it is and some will agree and some will disagree. What I find is that its about 50/50, some guys love the place and others are on my band wagon. My next door neighbor bought a GC from him just a few months before I got my 1635. He has had hit and miss service and I love to give it to him when brings it up. LOL He isn't willing to go anywhere else for service because of the convince so he just lives with it.

Sometimes I wonder if dealerships understand that they represent the manufacturer and should act accordingly? I have actually told that to a couple of dealership and got results after. So far the MF dealer that I bought my tractor from as always taken care of me. Wish I could say that about other companies like Honda believe it or not. I'm about ready to set my Honda Motorcycle and ATV on fire after dealing with a very, very bad dealership. I'm debating on wether or not to boycott Honda now.
