Now I'm confused. Kids aren't allowed to play outside anymore? I had no idea that things had digressed that far. :(

It hasn't...one paranoid neighbor called once...somewhere in the country...and suddenly it gets thrown around the internet like its an everyday occurrence. It is fuzzy-math at best, when someone tells me, "a lot of people have said", I press them for what "a lot" means and typically they cannot recite one legitimate name.

My neighbors have told me several times that they love the sounds of the kids playing in the yard and riding their bikes. But that is not drama, so that does not get put on the internet.

I take that a bit farther... which I could also post in another thread about tractors in roads.
In residential areas where the main purpose of the roads is to service people's homes; I feel that kids should be able to play in the road and drive accordingly. Am I the only one who's seen a basketball hoop set up with the road as the court?

I'm not as ice-hockey crazy as some guys up here, but even I played my fair-share of street hockey growing up. Think Wayne and Garth - Game On !

It was a Really Big Deal up here, when some areas wanted to ban residential street hockey......

Oh heck no: one road I mow has one set up that I have to mow around. I do a really good job there because I figure they might over-throw a ball and not want to lose it in the high grass.

Us roadside mowers are hated by everyone, but you would be surprised what we mow around, and how many times we stop to sweep the tall grass off people's lawns, or to set mailboxes upright, or do some extra mowing to knock back those trees so that they can see coming out of their driveway.

I get it: people are singular nd only care about the stretch of road in front of their house, but us mower operators got 3 seconds to size up a house and guess at what they would want done.

There are those who are adamant that children (like under 18) shouldn't use or ride on a tractor - yet they argue for their child's right to NOT "have" to wear a mask" due to COVID ....

Balance is key to anything that has a measure of danger.

Ever try to keep a mask on a 5 year olds face? You would have better luck keeping socks on an infant, but both of those things would be readily known for a parent with a child in those ages. It is not so much that parents argue against masks, they are just smart enough to know that no child is actually going to keep it on.

As for masks, they do nothing anyway. Wearing a mask is something perceivable society can do in a pandemic that really is unavoidable. It is the sugar pill of COVID just to make people think there is something they can do to prevent it. All you have to do is look at China. For the last 20 years everyone has been wearing masks, and yet COVID still spread across the world.

And now you know the rest of the story...
As to why America has 200,000 Covid deaths. IGNORANCE
