go to walmart and just buy a trailer hitch and don't put the ball on it and weld you a plate to the top of it you can get them in all diferent sizes meaning offsets witch is good because when you get stuck and you try to put the winch in the rear reciever and you have it in a regular mount it will be underwater. but if you buy a hitch from walmart with a 4 or 6" lift to it it will put the winch out of the water.plus the holes are predrilled for it to fit into the reciever part of the xuv.

Yeah I like that idea but remember I'm not going to be in deep water anyway really because I don't have a clutch enclosure. But the main reason I'm not going that route is because I can't weld and don't have a welder.. I'm not worried about finding one really because my dealer told me he can make one for any of them when I bought my gator.

Funkster I think you should be fine, I would imagine those are marine speakers so I'm sure they're meant to get wet to a certain degree.

if a straight hitch is what you need then a regular winch mount is good enough. but to be really honest i never really used the rear hitch but one time and that was when i had no choice but to pull in reverse i only had to use my winch about 3 or 4 times sinse i bought the hpx new in 04.and all of them times were with the stock 489's after i switched i never got stuck again i came real close but not yet.lol

Has anyone devised a shield for the clutch on a diesel? I took mine out in the soopy field the other day and the darn belt started to slip on me. I'm taking it that the gas shield won't work. Can someone tell me why? Thanks!

Yeah I think I'm going to get that viper skip told me about elsewhere that has a mount and quick connect that comes with it. It's cheap and I think it will do me good. I think the front is what I will be using mostly too. I plan on carrying a military surplus shovel that folds in one of those sadle bag type things I have so if I do need to use it on the rear I will be able to dig it out since I'm never under water but almost always have i so my backend is draging and the mud is all the way up to the hitch.

that's them johndeere seat covers i got some for my hpx . they are nice . they add alot of padding too plus they have some storage bags behind them. i paid 43.00 a peace for mine. i have two but i only keep one on at a time because of the dog that rides in the front seat. so i just put that one on when needed.
