The first one we bought was new from the dealer (some off brand line) and was made for a differential. (probably 50 years ago).

I had one identical to that one I can't remember the name but that made them and a few other items

Looks like a good idea for one of the newer small car differentials.

The late 70s/early 80s Datsun trucks used a smaller version of the ford 9" Diff.

Built one about 20 years ago, its still going as far as I know.
Anyone deciding to build one, remember to fit a slip clutch.

Same as me... Google "post hole digger differential" (Images) and you will see some diggers
