When I built my 5 x 9 dump trailer eons ago... I made the single axle my pivot and modified a single camper jack mounted on the tongue for the motive force to tip...

Never a problem with weight because the bed was mounted with 60% forward and 40% aft of the axle...

I was amazed at how well it works and the jack it very compact... still have it today... 30 years later.

The only downside is the number of pumps required for a full tip...

I have been meaning to update this thread.

I have loaded and dumped maybe 10 loads of dirt, and it has worked well. The suspension
gets bottomed out traversing my trail, and that's not so good, but nothing has broken.

One disappointment is that I overloaded the box twice and it needed assistance to
dump. I have been meaning to do a pressure test, and I have just done one.

I get 1000psi at idle, and 1100 psi at about 3000 engine RPM. That's at the low end of the
range I expected, so I may increase that a bit. I designed for a somewhat higher
pressure.

If anyone is looking to use a PS pump for a hydraulic application, don't be surprised
if it only puts out 1000psi. I was a bit surprised that I could not find this data on the
internet beforehand.

I may use another PS vane pump for a new project I am contemplating.

I know my MF135 Power steering pump was about 800 PSI. I saw these at Princess Auto for $69 so I bought two. One has dump trailer in its future.
