That stuff sounds expensive. I remember back in the teen stereo days that "Dynomat" was pretty popular and very expensive.

High Compression- Just wanted to thank you for this post. I recently purchased a new M9540, and although the A/C works great it has bugged me that there is alot of heat coming in from the top, you put your hand against the headliner and can really feel the warmth. I couldn't find the Mylar stuff at Home Depot so I stopped by Auto Zone and bought two of the better solar shades made for the inside of a car windshield and some Gorilla Tape. I removed the top and cut the solar shades to fit and taped them in there just like you did, luckily my wife was around to help me hold the headliner back in position, and once the top was back in place I decided to put a couple of pieces of thin fiberglass insulation I had on top of the headliner and we screwed it back in place, the whole deal took about 45 minutes.
It was 104F today when I finished and I started shredding a pasture by the house and after 15 minutes or so of being in that heat there was virtually no heat I could feel near the headliner area, plus I noticed I didn't have to turn the radio up near as loud, so it made a difference in the quietness of the cab as well.
Sorry for the lengthy post but want to thank you for taking the time to post your idea on how to do this, it was very helpful and absolutely made a huge difference.

P.S. Why the heck can't Kubota just go ahead and do this?!

Welcome to TBN! I'm really glad that this helped. In my opinion, that is one of the main reasons for these forums, to help others. If I just help one, it was worth the time, because so many have helped me.
And to answer your question... That's how it always is. You buy a new car/truck/tractor etc. you'll immediately find ways to improve it that are quick, easy and don't cost a fortune. Then ask why don't they make it that way at the factory? Guess we need to get jobs with Kubota R&D. Enjoy your new M9540! Great tractor!

The foil product looks very similar to a roll of material I put under a new metal roof I just installed on a side shed addition. I will take a sample to my local hardware/DIY store (probably Lowe's)and compare. If thickness is not an issue do you think this would be an application where more layers would be better?
Thanks,
David Cochran
