Funny, short story. When we lived in Anchorage we got a frige with auto ice maker. Before the "leaking pipe" situation we had a " berserk ice maker " episode. Ours would make a batch of ice then an arm would lower into the ice storage tray to determine if more ice should be made. This "detecting arm" went haywire and as you guessed - one morning I opened the door to get out the morning orange juice - the refrigerator was half full of cute little ice cubes. A river of cute little ice cubes came roaring out - across the kitchen floor and out into the dining room. That wasn't bad enough - because all the little cubes were in the refrigerator - the entire mass was half ice/half water. We should have quit then but we sure did about a year later when the fill line developed a leak. Just removed the entire unit and turned the little saddle faucet off.
